Hello,
I wish to buy i7 Intel Processor but it is said that Windows XP Pro 32 bit wont work on it. It also takes only Vista 64 bit OS. Is it true ? I feel another alternative will be to buy Intel Core i5 750 Processor which has 4 cores. Am I wrong ? Madhav Gore

Yes, you are wrong. Just about any version of any OS will work with any modern processor.

Any OS prior to WIndows XP Home SP2 all non server operating systems only supported a single core processor. Wasn't til after SP2 that a dual core could be used. Now all the prior operating systems will work, just your processor will not be able to be fully utilized.
