ATI 5770 @ $130? Very Quick Question...

Hey guys,

Quick Question: There is a deal at Fry's this weekend for an ATI 5770 at $130 and I was wondering whether it was a good deal or whether I should wait for a deal on a 5850 or something similar instead?

My current specs (lol 2.5 year old computer :D):
Q6600 @ 3.0 GHz
Geforce 8800GT
4 GB of RAM
Asus Maximus Formula
Thermalright 120 Extreme
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
500 GB HDD

I play at 1680 x 1050 and was looking at this deal because I want to be able to play Napoleon Total War at better settings so that my troops don't like like fuzzy blocks..... ><

More about 5770 quick question
  1. Unless you want to play Crysis, the 5770 will be great for your resolution.

Make sure it's the 1GB version as well...
  2. depends what 5770 you are talking about, if its a power-color or diamond with the wacky fans then I say steer away, if not then go ahead =)
  3. Sweet thanks for the fast replies.

    1) It is the 1 GB version.

    2) Nah its an official ATI one.
  4. ^
It has no manufacturer brand, so i doubt about it's performance...
  5. The 129.99$ is after rebate.

Save up 20.00$ more and get an Asus or XFX (newegg). Fry's normally lowers the price on OEM cards because they need to get rid of them and make room for the new batch of cards.
