My PC is:-
1gb ram, 3.0ghz (ht) processor, windows 7, nvidia geforce 6200 graphics,
Hard drive is samsung hd322 sata2 320gb(Windows installed on this),

i have an old quantum 20gb IDE hard drive,
If i connected this old hard drive and stored paging files on both hard drives, will it gain performance?

In short no. You will notice your hard drive thrashing more often than not.
In your case, I would let the system automatically manage the pagefile.sys.
You can also add more ram which I'm intrigued as to why you have 1GB of RAM?!

well, with 1 gb ram it rather hard to do anything on your computer..
at least you'll need 2 gb memory to enjoy the beauty of win 7..:)
3gb if you wanna running everything on full speed..

Put paging file in different harddrive always give little boost of performance, but IF your paging drive as fast as your system drive..

ide 20gb quantum is a very old drive..and i bet it already really slow drive right now..
if you put your page file in this old drive, it will hold your performance severely..
