Caviar Black with IDE or AHCI?

Hi everybody! I've got a question. I have a WD Caviar Black 1Tb SATA3 Disk and BIOS shows that it's based on IDE. But there's a AHCI option available. What is the difference between IDE and AHCI? Do I need to enable AHCI?

Use ahci, but if your os is running off that drive don't just switch it to ahci, you will need to make some changes to your system beforehand.

personally i run my drives in single drive raid
