Problem during boot with my new(ish) home build.

Hey TH peoples.

So, I built my first computer a month or two (or maybe three) ago and all has been running brilliantly so far.
No issues, and I'm loving it.

However, yesterday something interesting happened.
When I boot the computer, it appears to freeze (or pause) during the startup and then continue as usual about 5 minutes later.

Once I press the power button, this screen appears within 5 seconds (as it always has).

However, it then pauses for a number of minutes before the rest of the screen loads.
Showing this:

What normally (used to) happen is that the first of those screenshots only appears for a few seconds and then the rest of the screen loads.

So.
Any idea why the few minute gap?

My system is:
i7 930
Gigabyte x58a ud3r
3x 2gb of Corsair memory
Radeon 5850 1gb graphics card

Thanks in advance.

It would look to me like it's looking for an optical drive....as I see none listed!
That's your delay.....do you have a dvd/cd rom drive connected?

I do.

That would be the Asus DRW-24B1ST...
Which seems to work fine once the computer has started...

is it sata? or ide....
this could be your problem...
If it's an IDE drive then set it to master...

It's SATA...
:-/

When I first did the build I asked a bunch of times about it being Slave and whether that was an issue but no-one was able to give me an answer on it.
