have Adelphia Cable for interent. It's acting better than it was but is still very frustrating for me when I play online FPS games. So I got Verizon DSL to see if it was better, and it is (more stable). I was going to keep Verizon and nuke Adelphia, then a friend suggested I get the above mentioned router so I could combine both connections and get and get an overall increase in bandwidth and resulting lower ping when I game online.

I got the XiNCOM and followed the instructions for a quick, no-frills setup. The problem is only one of my WAN connections shows up as "active". I've done some switching and rebooting and I know that both services work when they are the only one being used. However, when I hook both up to the router it only shows one WAN as being "connected".

My knowledge of this stuff is VERY limited, therefore i'm sure i'm missing something that is implied in the XiNCOM setup instructions but not actually written. I've started everything up and connected to 192.168.1.1 like it says, and i've made sure that "load balancing" is enabled. However there appears to be a TON of stuff that this router is capable of, way more than what I want it to do. All I want it to do is combine both Cable and DSL service so I can get get more power and therefore a lower ping when I play online (more power = lower ping = better game play experience, yes?). No server stuff, or filter stuff, or any of the other "stuff" that it offers (at least not right now anyway). Just increased bandwidth for a better ping for better online gaming.

Can somebody tell me what it is that I should be looking for specifically to accomplish this? I'm thinking there's a setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted. Turned on or off, a value entered, I don't know, something. Thanks in advance for everybody's time and help with this "router n00b".
