[New Build] Good Gaming/Everything Rig Around 800-1K

So im an avid gamer/programmer/developer nothing too crazy but have been thinking to finally upgrade to a whole new system. I dont need anything TOO crazy but enough to play modern computer games.

Any help to get to price down is greatly appreciated!!

Here are the parts im thinking of already: (newegg)

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core ----- 199.99
I know this is a little much, but why not future proof it a little bit so I wont have to get another for a LONG time

OCZ AMD Black Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) ----- 100.99 (80.99 REBATE)

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS ----109.99 (90.99 REBATE)
Would this be too much? I dont plan on doing much overclocking...some but not that much.

EVGA 768-P3-1360-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 ---- 199.99

GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard ---- 106.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" ---- 74.99

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM ----- 19.99

Total Price comes to about $812

Mouse, keyboard, and monitor are already accounted for and I also have NO IDEA what to do for a case :( :(

More about build good gaming everything
  1. OCZ Ram is just a bad idea right now. Too many issues.

Your build isn't SLI capable. Mobo doesn't have 2 slots, and AMD chipsets do not support SLI.

Do you use any heavily threaded software? If not, then that x6 is useless and in fact, will give you less gaming performance for more money.

Some budget case suggestion are Antec 300 illusion, CM 690 II and CM Elite. These are all $60 or under.
  2. Not really for the heavily threaded software. So am I better off just getting a good quad core CPU?

And what should I do about the Video Card then?
