How to troubleshoot Segate HDD

I have a Seagate 1 TB HDD that is ~ 2 years old and is now giving me read errors once in a while. I was wondering how do I go about accessing its state. Is it dying?

  1. Try a comprehensive SMART diagnostic. Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

HD Sentinel (DOS / Windows / Linux):
