i know that in time a ssd will start getting errors when try to read on some bits ( randomly placed as they are randomly written from day 1)

most ssd's manufacturers say 2 mil hours MTBF. that covers what, when the disc is totally unusable, or when it start to not have anymore the stated capacity ( worn out start to manifest)?

also should i be concerned with controller be out before the 2.000.000 hours?

thank you

Hi Cristi,

You can always check out the drive with HD Tune (Pro) or other disk analysis applets for SMART problems, and Error sector checking.
For SSD,s the MTBF rates are ~ 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 hours. Run 24 hours a day that would be 114 years, so I doubt you are anywhere close to that.

you should have had the same concerns with HDD drives too. Nothing has changed realistically.

There is always a chance of failure. backup what's important.
