Can ssd drive and sata drive be on the same sata bus

Our group has a Dell R510 server that has 5 SATA connectors on he motherboard of which 4 are currently configured with 4 SATA HHD. We would like to add a 100GB SSD to the system. Can we use the last SATA connector to plug the SSD drive into and still have everything work? Thanks in Advance.

I don't see why not, even if the other four are in a RAID array, it doesn't mean you can't add a single disk.
