Samsung 830 slow Sequential and Random write

Hi,
i have 2 Samsung 830 256GB (not RAID) and when i tried the benchmark today i got normal read speeds but very low write speeds with the Samsung Magician Software.

My speeds are:
Sequential Read 512MB
Sequential Write 34MB

Random Read 76315 (IOPS)
Random Write 562 (IOPS)

Test Range 1024MB
IO Size Sequential 128KB
IO Size Random 4KB

I am missing something here? The read speeds are fine why the write speeds are so low?

My System Info
Motherboard Asus P9X79 Deluxe
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Intel® Rapid Storage Technology enterprise Information
User interface version: 3.5.0.1092
Intel controller: SATA (AHCI)
Driver version: 3.5.0.1092

  1. Hmm have you tried this benchmark AS SSD. The I get around 350-400 MB on the write and the read is quite a bit faster yes.

    it should look like this

  2. You may also want to make sure that you are using the suggested port on your motherboard I know its sata 3 but on some boards they tell you to stay away from using the marvel controller.

I just did and the speeds look much better. What does it mean, that the software from Samsung is not accurate?

  4. I would certainly say its not. By the look of it your SSD is doing quite well sir :) and more people use the test I sent you anyway. I got lower numbers with magician as well with there benchmark I wouldn't look that far into it.

    Intel Core i5 2500k
    Asrock Z68 EXTREME4 Gen 3
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB OC
    Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 8GB (2x4)
Samsung 830 256GB SATA III SSD
Seagate Barracuda 500 GB SATA II
