Yesterday I accidentally pushed my HP Pavilion laptop off the table.
It seems to work, but I am wondering what should I watch for ?
Harddrive ? DVD drive ?

About six months ago I dropped my HP Pavilion about three feet onto a
ceramic tile floor. As best as I could tell, one corner of the case took the
main blow.

Up to this point, the laptop has shown no adverse effects from the accident.

The HD would likely be the first place to suffer, although the AC
adapter jack, if AC was connected at the time, is the most fragile part
of many laptops. HDs are not nearly as fragile as they once were; most
are designed to protect from g-shock. Watch for file errors, startup
problems. Download the manufacturer's disk health utility to check the
disk. If the laptop works like it did, there is probability than
nothing was damaged at all.

In my experience, often the LCD display breaks: the shock severs some of the
fine connections of the column drivers and you get lines running down the
display. Or you shatter the backlight tube. This has happened at least 4 times
to me, with drops as little as 12 inches. Sounds like you are lucky.

My hard drive is Hitachi, they have Drive Fitness Test, but it is
available only as a bootable floppy (I have no floppy drive)

Create a bootable CD-Rom with the floppy image

You can make a bootable CD that will act exactly like that bootable
floppy; you can do this on another computer (that has a floppy drive).
