Hello,
I want to upgrade my xp system RAM from 2GB to 4GB. I bought a 4GB kit (Crucial 4GB Kit DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 Laptop Memory SODIMM Non-ECC) However now my laptop will not boot up at all the power light is on. Can any one shed some light on this subject and point me in the right direction please. Thank you. My system is an Intel core 2 duo T7500 2.2ghz if this is of any use.

Did you try one stick at a time? Do they work a different machine? How do the voltages compare from your old RAM to the posted specs on the new? Did you try holding down the power button for a minute?

Sometimes the sticks just don't work and you have to try another brand.

Go to the ram web site, and access their configurator. Enter your pc/motherboard and select from the list of supported kits.
If your ram is supported, you should be able to get support.

In the mean time, run memtest86+ on each of the sticks individually, if you can.
