yeah im getting a new asus 6830 along with a ssd and im wondering if i could clean install windows 8 to it and just plug it in as the primary boot device or would i need to clone it keep in mind that it is the oem version that comes with it since it is a pre built pc or would there be some motherboard related problems?

Solution
Clean install made on the machine will be fine.

When it comes to used OEM keys, it has to be the same motherboard as the first time it was used. The drive the install is located on doesn't matter, just the motherboard.
You can just clean install to the SSD with Windows 8 with no problems.

Unplug the other hard drive, plug in the SSD, do a clean install with the DVD, and then activate Windows 8, then just plug in the other hard drive and format it(or whatever you want done with it.)
