I wanted to share a folder on my local network so i could copy some files to
another machine. When i set the folder to be shared windows went and spent
about half an hour (its still going after half an hour)setting folder
permissions. Why? Does it need to alter every last file under the shared
folder? This is just plain dumb - is there an easier way to share the
folder? This is all on a 2.8Ghz P4 with XP media center edition.
Thanks
Eric

Oh, and set your follow-up correctly. There is no
"microsoft.public.windowsxp", you must select at least one sub-group.
