Okie typically lcd's with TV tuners are way more expensive. Would it not be a better idea to buy a regular LCD and then purchase a TV tuner PCI card? I mean you would not still have all the features like HDTV and Picture-in-Picture. I am just a bit confused why people would want to buy a LCD with a TV tuner, what are the advantages of such a set up?

I dont know but when i purchased my Planar PX171m, i noticed that planar also makes a seperate tv tuner that supports s-video, composite and others. For $99 i grabbed it. I think itll be worthwhile... hopefully. But hey, this way my lcd can serve as a tv too. No need to buy a tv for my room now ;)
