im confused by all the damned sSpec/OPN#'s ... the one on newegg is HDZ955FBGMBOX, and there are several on the BIOSTAR site. there are different versions of the CPU that it says its compatible with - 1 is z955, 3 are x955, and 1 is just 955... should i be looking at the "GM" part of this number to see compatibility?

any incite would be appreciated.

With those types of listings, look less at the specific sSpec and more at the TDP, HyperTransport speed, and CPU model number (955). The CPU you want to buy matches all three of those on one of the lines on the list, therefore it will work.
