Yes it should be fine with your system, providing your powersupply can take it. For this card you need a minimum 500W powersupply with the 6-pin (pci-e) 12v power connector

5770 would be a good choice...

the 5770 is closer performance wise to a gtx260

and yes it will work in your system (probably be more power efficient too)
