Intel SSD Users (Particularly 330 Series) and FW Updates

Ok... I seem to be having a little concern here... It's not detecting that there is an updated FW for my Intel 330 when it clearly states that it provides FW update for my SSD... :o

Quote:
The Intel SSD Toolbox supports firmware updates on the following Intel SSDs:

Intel® Solid-State Drive Latest Firmware Version

Intel® Solid-State Drive 710 Series 6PB10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 320 Series 4PC10362
Intel® Solid-State Drive 311 Series 2CV102M5
Intel® Solid-State Drive 310 Series 2CV102M3
Intel® Solid-State Drive 330 Series 330i
Intel® Solid-State Drive 335 Series 335j
Intel® Solid-State Drive 520 Series 400i
Intel® X18-M / X25-M SATA SSDs (34nm) 2CV102M3
Intel® X25-V SATA SSD 2CV102M3

So from the above, unless I misunderstood it, 330i is the latest FW... Is this a typo or something or am I doing something wrong?

More about intel users particularly series updates
  1. The version number in the upper left-hand corner refers to the SSD toolbox utility. What the screens are indicating is that the software detects that the firmware is up to date as of that version of the toolbox. Intel doesn't seem to let the toolbox software download firmware updates newer than the toolbox release but it bundles them into newer releases of the toolbox software. You can check the Intel site for a newer version of the SSD toolbox.
  2. Actually that is the latest one available and when I read that it is suppose to support a new FW 330i for my SSD, I went ahead and downloaded it but somehow it's not really detecting this new "330i" FW. What I currently have is 300i...

  3. Oh, I see now. I wasn't looking at the screens closely, that showed the installed version as 300i to be upgraded to 330i.

Well I'm not sure what the answer is then. It might be a bug in the software unless there's some restriction or incompatibility Intel hasn't disclosed.
  4. Yeah... I am starting to doubt this release of the Toolbox as from a separate thread, he's having health warning issues...

  5. check out with CrystalDiskInfo and see what is your FW version!
  6. Got a response from Intel CS...

    Hi,

Thank you writing to Intel Customer Support. I understand that you were not able to use SSD Toolbox to update to firmware 330i, which is the latest firmware version for 330 SSD as stated in our website at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455

Allow me to further check on this, I will update you as soon as there is any findings. Again, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Did you try reporting your issue to Intel Customer Support? I reported mine and was told they'll check on it (hopefully they really would).

This looks to be a buggy release... might as well report it so Intel will be made aware... :o
  8. This happens to be a buggy release afterall and a "typo" for the 330 Series firmware... Version:3.1.1 has just been released and the note corrected to show 300i firmware for the 330's.
