I am needing help with setting up a UT99 lan server. Is there a site that
explains the best configuration to optimize UT for LAN play.

If you are going to serve custom maps, don't overlook the need for a web
server hosing those maps and a redirect.

You need a http redirect for a Lan server?

It is suggestable. First, downloads are limited to the netspeed you set
(which won't be 100 megabit for sure <grin> ) and the other problem is with
epic's cpu priority assignment. They didn't do it "right" and even a
machine with a fast processor will often have issues serving UT and allowing
clients to download the necessary files at the same time.

Fair point and well explained - I'd forgotten about the netspeed cap
tbh. Thanks!
