I would suggest the CM 690 - It is big, not too costly and has very good airflow...

its out of my price range, whats the
Coolermaster Elite 310 ATX Desktop Case like?

It might be a tight fit...
You can check out the NZXT cases like Gamma/ Beta...they are cheaper...
I would suggest you getting a cheaper CPU cooler and invest on a better case...
Cooler - CM Hyper 212+ would be a good option or Sunbeam CCTF 120/ Scythe Mugen 2/ Xigmatek DarkKinght...

im planning to overclock to about 4.2 ghz so i wanted a really good cooler
August 6, 2010 8:58:49 AM

Well it wont be enough if you just have a good cooler...You would also need a really good case to move out the hot air that the cooler would be blowing out...
So I would say go mid range with both...
And why 4.2?? Anything above 3.6-3.8GHz doesnt offer any significant performance gains w.r.t the power that it consumes...

690 II is also a good choice.

Noctua is over price. Cooler master v6 and thermaltake frio are very good. But even those are not much better than hyper 212+ which costs $30 (on amazon)! You should probably look to trim else where if you can't raise even $50 for a case though.

Also, I can vouche for msi cyclone cooler, and msi in general, I'd buy their 460 over anyone else's.

^ Well I dont think you are getting my point...
Either go full on both the cooler and case or go mid on both...
And read more articles and get to know more...

i guess i could get the antec 200, thanks for the help
August 6, 2010 10:31:34 AM

ok we dont have it in my country but we do have the antec 300, i can put more money into the case now, so any good case around the antec 300s price?
August 6, 2010 10:33:09 AM

is the corsair h70 any good because i could get that?
August 6, 2010 10:50:40 AM

is the h70 better than the venomous x? and what is the zalman 27 and the zalman 27 plus cases like?
August 6, 2010 11:02:09 AM

Coolermaster CAV-T03 Cavalier 3 or antec 300 or zalman 27 plus or Coolermaster Ammo 533 Black or Vantec TSX-300? which 1 is best?
August 6, 2010 12:26:40 PM

i can still either go for a noctua NH-D14, or a thermalright venomous x or the corsair h70
August 6, 2010 12:37:17 PM

i can also afford the antec 600 but thats as far as i can go, is the antec 600 worth the extra money and is there anything thats better than the antec 600 at the same price?
August 6, 2010 7:48:31 PM

The Antec 300 is a very good case most people upgrade from that to a 900/902 skipping the 600.
The best CM cases are the 690/690II for your budget.
The Noctua and Venomous X are excellent i really don't know about the H70 since it's brand new.
If your considering the H50 0R H70 either version of the Cooler Master 690II is the way to go.
August 7, 2010 7:23:26 AM

so i must take the 690II over the antec 600? which one has better airflow?
August 7, 2010 7:38:41 AM

im leaning more towards the antec 600 because of the monster fan and the fact that it is lighter, quite a bit lighter and since im ordering from a company quite far away i pay shipping per kilogram

What is your price range limit on a case?
The airflow on a 690II Basic is pretty good considering it can facilitate 10 fans.
Water cooling rads can be mounted in two locations top or bottom.
It's very roomy and cable management is excellent.
It's a much better case then the 600 imo.

Cases are a personal choice though so whatever floats your boat.
I don't like windowed side panel cases with unpainted interiors looks like crap to me.

No problem! finding links is easy Google is your friend.
I have a CM 690II Basic which replaced an Antec 300 and it's much better imo.
However i live in Canada and the price difference between them is less then $20.

you will be surprised how much pc components cost in south africa, the coolermaster 690II costs $117 in south africa

Your're right they are pricey i've looked.
The 300 is $50-60 in Canada and the CM 690II Basic $70.
You know a good new budget gaming case is the CM 430 Elite.
The only flaw it has is that the backplate isn't stamped out very well.

Chances are you won't fit a Noctua DH-14 or Venomous X in it i could be wrong though.
