Hello, I Format my DVD for "use like a flash drive" and thereafter the DVD is no longer accessible. It used to work in the past perfectly. Why suddenly? Is it a windows 7 update problem?

Are using DVD-RW (+RW) media and/or "write Once" media (-R, +R)
And does it work in "normal" mode?

Flash drive is same as DVD-+RW in that you can OVERwrite a file, can not truely delete a file on DVD-R,+R.

What program are you using, Myself I use the freebee "Imgburn"

D/Click My Computer - d/click on CD Drive - "How do you want to use the disc" and two possibilities to choose: Like a flash drive or With a CD/DVD player. I choose like a "flash drive" as it worked previously to back up my Pastel data. If I choose it now the disc becomes unaccessable after the formattting.

I use the build in CD burner of my acer computer. It used to work for many months to back up data. I do not know why it "suddenly" does not function any more. DVD used DVD-R
