BFG 8800GT OC very annoying fan speed noise

I have a 8800GT OC'D by BFG, and it has an extremely loud fan. It was fine with my first case, pretty muffled, but then i upgraded my computer to the HAF 922
All the fans are very quiet EXCEPT the one on my graphics card. I'm thinking of getting a fan controller to control the speed, but I want someone else's opinion, first.

I don't want to under-clock it or anything like that, it's fine the way there is, but, is there anyway I can just shut the thing up? I've tried unplugging the fan power connector, but that just makes my motherboard scream like a bitch. Sooo, any opinions, or is the fan controller my best bet?

1. clean off all the dust bunnies on your card's HSF

2. download MSI afterburner, its free

3. set the fan speed lower, see if that helps.

then spend on upgrades if it doesn't help.

Its accumulated dust... Clean it. I still have my BFG 8800GT OC... Its runs like a charm.

about two years ago I had a XFX 8800GT Alphadog XXX edition was a "high" oc'ed card i, was trying to figure out how to get the fan speed down it was on 100% the whole time, and figure out that you could not turn down the fan speed because it was a "oced" edition. but im not sure how its with BFG :)

62c at idle is normal for the 8800/9800GT
