Stress test and benchmark

Just completed a new build and want to stress test and benchmark the system. Should I use the monitoring utilities that came with my asus M4A785-M or use the software posted in the step by step build guide here on the forums (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274745-31-step-step-guide-building)?

I generally use the software from the guide. You don't need to run the CPU temp monitor for longer than an hour and MemTest is unnecessary unless you have problems.
