Hi,

I did a thread a few weeks ago but was not sure about if I would buy or not, since then I revised my build trying to save money on the PSU and Casing...

I want to play SC2, Diablo3, MW, etc...

here is what I got (Canadian $$) :

I plan to overclock and get a 212 from amazon... Does this sound reasonable ? Did I skip something somewhere? Will that PSU be enough assuming I dont crossfire ? Or if I want to crossfire will it be a problem ?

Thanks

Parts wise it looks good, the PSU's fine if you don't want to CrossFireX, but if you do you'll want a 650 W PSU. If this is a completely new build you'll need an OS and ODD. For your current HDD, I'd pay an extra $25 (or something) for the Samsng Spinpoint F3 1 TB version, which is one of the fastest HDDs available.

I would get this hard drive , cheaper and better only 49.99 dollars 640gb WD caviar black
use the following promo code on newegg.ca: CEMCYWYR34 for this: and it will be only 49.99!

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

and sorry i cant provide link, the newegg.ca links dont work here is the matching newegg.com link for it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL080410CA&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL080410CA-_-EMC-080410-Index-_-InternalHardDrives-_-22136319-L0A

also I would get this power supply: CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
here is the promo code and with it, it will be $85 (and there is a $20 mail rebate): CEMCYWYR22
but it still only has 2pci-e connectors and for crossfire 5850 you will need 4 of them.
the newegg.com link to it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL080410CA&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL080410CA-_-EMC-080410-Index-_-PowerSupplies-_-17139005-L01C

My final suggestion would be to purchase a 1gb gtx460 instead if you are planning on going into dual configs because with better sli scaling I two gtx 460s is alot cheaper than two 5850's but they are about on par. And for now one gtx460 overclocked will not be too far behind a 5850 (only a handfull of fps behind on average) - at least it wont limit you to not maxing any game out on a 1080p resolution but it will save you $70 plus tax.

The gtx 460 I have bought my friend is the gigabyte 1gb gtx460 with the two fans, it is very quiet and has good temperatures. The Asus 1gb gtx 460 is also good but I heard it has a loud cooler. Stay away from the palit one because it has missing heatsinks or something.

If you are ready to buy, I saw deals on the memory and a 1 TB WD black that you might want to jump on.

Looks like a pretty good sale this weekend...of course, there will always be another good sale down the line.
