Download speed

My PC is hard wired into my router, which is used for a wireless connection to my laptop. until recently both machines were receiving around 6meg download speed. suddenly, my PC's s download speed has dropped to under 1meg but my laptop is still downloading at 6meg. any ideas?

First of all I would switch to another port on the router to rule out a port issue. Then if that doesn't work I would go on the router manufacterer's website and follow their instructions for upgrading the firmware(doing this will reset all settings), then I would try to find the manufacterer of your PC's network chip(integrated ones are usually from Intel) and upgrade that too. If all that doesn't work I would call the ISP.
