Good day to all. Without any hesitation I'll just jump into the problem that I am facing.
I have afresh new Lenovo y580 GAMERS edition laptop. The specs are quite fabulous: i7, 16 gb RAM, 2 gb video card.
I was excited about it because my sister is an architect and she uses it for programs such as 3dmax, corel, photoshop etc. I thought it was a perfect choice.
But after installing Windows 7 Ultimate x64, I noticed that the bootup screen appears for at least 30 sec, after that there is a black screen with only the curson on it for a while, and finally it gets to welcome screens and slowly as a turtle loads everything. As if the long loading time wasn't weird enough it seems that when transferring data per se from C: to D: the laptop becomes unresponsive (well almost). It takes 1-2 min just to launch the task bar or something like mozilla. Now I thought that it could be due to the transferring and that the spinning disc wasn't capable of managing that operations but even my old PC which was bought in 2006 can easily transfer data and load programs or even games.
Another thing that I noticed that the transfer rate drops immediately from 60-70 MB/s to 20 MB/s and is stable from that on. Plus, the download speed from internet can't reach above 2,7 MB/s (I mean megabytes sorry if I am writing it incorrectly), yet my connection easily allows 10 MB/s (plus I can achieve it with my PC). So couldn't that mean that the HDD isn't reading data fast enough ?
I just can easily feel that something is definitely wrong as I have an older PC and it runs much faster than the Lenovo y580 with those specs!!!
So basically that's it. I have searched all over the internet and tried several things:
1) I installed fresh copy of x64 Enterprise and the problem still exists
2) I tried updating bios
scanned the HDD with HD tune for errors, plus did a benchmark. (P.S. the HD tune scans the HDD at 60-70 MB/s).
3) I defragmented both partitions
