Gateway hd case

Hello,
Cmptr won't boot. Need to get a case and rmv HD to use as external. What kind of case?

Guessing your HDD is SATA: VANTEC NST-360SU-BK, about $40

Right now it's in a 1999 Gateway XP Home. Are they all a standard size? I will check on the Sata part. Thanks!

HDDs generally come in 2.5" and 3.5" sizes, the 2.5" are generally used in laptops and the 3.5" are generally used in desktops. Your HDD should have a label on the top that shows the mfr, the size, the capacity, and the date of manufacture. The link I gave you is for housing 3.5" SATA HDDs.
