No! But if it is the same socket then usually the boards are compatible with older CPU's released before the release date of the motherboard. If you have a specific motherboard in mind we can look up the supported CPU list.

Apparently it only supports CPU's with fsb of 800MHz and above. So it does not support your P4

so which mother board do i need for my cpu.
i want as cheap as possible as my cpu is very old and i want to use the pci e
my current board is SIS chipset with AGP.
i want to upgrade my graphic.
and so what graphic suit me (4550 or 9500 or ???)

i think getting new mobo make me more affordable for the graphic cards.
agp cards are a lot more expensive than pci e of the same GPU
so i'm thinking new mobo

But you are going to spend more on the motherboard and GPU than just the GPU in AGP flavor to get the same end results because with a P4 and HD4650 the CPU becomes the limiting factor.
You could though take the change and get a cheap used board of ebay and if you are planning a new build in the future you could carry the graphics card over.

i'm just planning to buy a new mobo for my old cpu, and i've decided to use with either x3100 or x4500 onboard, which may be far better than my current sis onboard chip.

and i'll save some more to get a dedicated gpu later.

so do u think intel will be better in IGP than Sis despite both are poor for games and movies?

thanks

intel is good but you cannot play all the games you want and you can view only movies up to the lowest HD resolution.

Intel is better than SIS but neither can be considered good.

^+1 Now if only AMD IGPs can be applied to Intel motherboards. Nah! :na:  It will only happen after Judgement Day!
