Hi guys and girls

im having issues with my new SSD ,the read speeds (which aren`t great) are slower than the write speeds.

heres a screenshot of my AS SSD benchmark results:
http://postimage.org/image/sm71e8ns5/

and these are my system specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: XFX79U
System Model: XFX nForce 790i Ultra 3-Way SLI
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.9GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8190MB RAM
Page File: 2589MB used, 5599MB available

my xfx 790i motherboard does not support sata 3 so i bought a pci-e / sata 3 card and the results above are using the sata 3.

also i bought another 830 ssd as i thought it could just be a faulty drive but both drives are the same.

this is the card if it helps:

so any help would be appreciated.

thanks

You need to have at least a PCIe x4 card to get maximum advertised speeds of the SATA III SSD. But those cards are not cheap. Your card maybe PCIeX1 or X2.

If you want the high performance you have to get the new PC, and if you don't mind the benchmark you will be fine. You don't notice the difference between SATAII and SATAIII in real usage.
