Graphic card problem

i got an old ati 126mb graphic card from my friend. i tried to intall it onto my pc's motherboard myself. though the card fits there, my monitor does not detect it. the driver also won't install as the card is not detected. but the monitor detects the default(inbuilt) card.can anyone please help me.. PC spec.s: intel DG31PR board, core 2 duo processor, 4gb ram, 500gb hard disk. and i don't know anything more about the graphic card.

chk in device manager first whether it detects or not............while on ur inbuilt card..............and tell us here...........

no it doesn't detect.. i think i should change a bios setting but don't know how to do..
