Installing DDR3 dual channel memory

I am installing 2 2gb identical memory cards in a motherboard which supports 4 memory boards (channel A 1 and 2, channel B 1 and 2). Should I put the memory in A1 and B1 or in A1 and A2?

Most dual-channel boards have two slots in one color and two slots in another color, alternating. Put one stick in the slot that's the farthest from the CPU, and the second stick in the other slot that's the same color.

Slot 1 (closest to CPU): Empty
    Slot 2: RAM
    Slot 3: Empty
    Slot 4: RAM
