hi, i just installed a new motherboard along with the 2600k processor, and a 4gb memory stick but when i right click MY computer, it says 4gb total, but 2.98gb is usable, so im wondering is there something i have to do to make it 4gb, i remember some people saying that on my motherboard it downgrades pc 1600 lower, so how do use the 4gb total?

  4. My computer ran a couple of updates the other day and ... problem solved !! Now I'm trying to see exactly what that update was. I was having same problems . Had 8GB ddr3 ram @ 1333 mhz and was only reading 4GB (actually less 3. something). Now it's all good. Try getting the win7 up to date.

that pending .51 gb is running in background and paging, and of course, every program will use some memory from ram even though they are not running actually. If u open Ur task manager and check performance option find the answer you will

If u have any Anti virus it will also use at least 512 mb ram :sol: :sol: :sol:
  6. there is problem with your motherboard.. some motherboards are made like that.my friend do have same motherboard with 3g of ram are total and only 2.85 usable and he have win 64bit.replace old motherboard like my friend and will be better

i have 4 gb ram with geforce 210 still showin 3.42 usable helpppppp frndz told me my vga card is not powerful so intel onboard graphics is workingand onboard graphics always takes some amount of ram butwhen i type dxdiag it shows that nvidia graphic card is working and the monitor doesnt work if i connect it with onboard vga
  8. To all of u, u need to have the x64bit windows.

If u have x32bit version, u will have around 3GB of RAM at best.!

The only solution is to get x64bit version.
  9. Or u can use a program called RAM disc for your unused RAM.

  10. Yeah, make sure you all are using 64bit OS. Only 32bit version of windows will show 3.42gb usable.

Memory that is using by program will not show less memory than actual. In my desktop, around 1.1gb memory is always using. But that not showing me 2.9gb memory.

if the board from gigabyte and ram is not made by kingstone then it will show less ram.

Not all GIGABYTE BOARDS EAT RAM But some of them. :p

THAT PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE MOTHERBOARD SOUTHBRIDGE IF HE HAD WARRANTY HE SHOULD TAKE THAT BOARD TO SERVICE CENTER TELL THEM THE PROBLEM THEY WILL REPLACE A NEW BOARD AND HE WILL GET FULL RAM.
  13. Never see any gigabyte board like you said. I have two gigabyte board without having any problem.
