hi guys not to sure if am posting this in the right place if not please by all means remove.

my question is,i recently tried to install 1 ov these onto my gfx which is a gtx280
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Arctic-Cooling-Accelero-Xtreme-5870-ATI-HD5870-VGA-cooler-inc-92mm-x3-PWM-fans

lets just say i didnt fix on properly and now unable to use it.
so i would like to know if i have clean all the thermal pads from the chips from old case and just put some paste onto them is this ok,i have looked at my temps and they are going higher than normal.10 to 20 degrees more.
so should i get this instead and would it make any difference http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Akasa-AK-TT12-80-Reinforced-Micro-Fibreglass-Double-sided-thermal-adhesive,

or does any 1 know of anything better.

advice please.

thankyou.

i am using riva tuner now as well fan stock speed are at 40 temps 55 degrees on desktop.
gaming at these specs 85.

i then change fan speeds to 60 and 80
desktop @ 60 are 52 degrees gaming 83 degrees
desktop @ 80 are 49 to 50 degrees gaming 80 degrees
i do have a thermal armor+ case and fans are more than enough for airflow.

changing cooler again and again isn't a good thing as you are messing up the thermal paste
now clean the surface of the gpu die and apply a fresh layer of thermal paste and fix your new cooler on and see the result...
