I'm not very sure if it's the hard drive, but this is my laptop:

There's a sound coming from the left side (where my left palm rests) and it's only noticeable at night when its really quiet. I can hear it if I take off my earpiece.

I haven't had any issues with the hard drive for a few months now, but the sound was always there. Its always there even when nothing is being copied/pasted/downloaded etc.

No, the sound is there almost always when I use the laptop. But I haven't faced any issues with hard drive or lag or any thing like that. Just that I've used other laptops without this weird sound and it makes me a little worried it may just die suddenly..

Is that the clicking in your video?

I know my old Hitachi laptop drive would make a noise when parking the heads after idle for a bit. It was actually strange because it almost seemed random. But many many years later it still works.

Yes, that's the sound. It's constant though. This morning when I turned on my laptop there was a sudden short 1-2 second clicking noise followed by a beep, which happened about 2 times in a 1 minute. This one was very distinct, and sounded like it was from the right side of my laptop instead.

Since this morning till now (about 6 hours passed) it's been fine though..
