Whenever I boot, the mobo gives an okay POST beep, but it freezes from that point on. Also, none of the keyboards I tried [USB and PS/2] don't work. Although I managed to get in the BIOS on my second try, just to look at the settings. I saved, loaded the Windows disc, reset the machine and it just didn't work from then on.

I've also tried resetting the CMOS, reseated graphics card, sound card, memory [reduced to one/no DIMMs], etc. All of which didn't make a difference.
Is there any way to fix this or is my motherboard dead?

My setup is:
AMD Phenom II X4 955
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 cooler
8GB Corsair XMS3 1333MHz
750GB WD Caviar Black [sata3]
Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 rev 3.1
Radeon 5830
HAF 912
ASUS DVD burner [sata2]
550w Ultra Lifetime Pro series PSU

Trying to install Win7 HP x64

Solution
Your power supply or a bad stick of ram may be the problem. Ultra isn't very good in my opinion. You can do better. I recommend corsair or antec with 40 amps or more on a single 12v rail. Also check your board bios version to see if it will run the 955.

I changed the power supply to a better one and it worked. :)
