New system second draft

------------------------------------------

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: 2-3 months

BUDGET RANGE:700-800, including shipping and before any rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (mostly very modern MMOs, some RPGs), video viewing/storage, web usage

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Speakers, Monitor. DVD burner, keyboard and mouse CAN be cannibalised, but would rather keep old PC for Linux or to give as hand-me-down

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: pricewatch, newegg, wherever is least expensive after shipping

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD for value, but reliable & Inexpensive is the goal

OVERCLOCKING: Yes, but only slightly (upping a 955 to match a 965, for instance)

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No, with rare exceptions, single card solution is usually better at a given price point

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1680x1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: system should run very cool, current system is a space heater. New system should have improvements over my 2008 C2D, DDR2, HD4850 system.

I've posted a couple times before, but I think I've got this finalized, Build is in ~2 months because that is when I expect a windfall to show up. It has to buy this system and a replacement washer & dryer, thus the prices chosen. The system should be able to run most thing at high quality into 2012 or 2013. Basically what I'll do with i t from here is tweaks from price changes, unless someone has strong suggestions.
