I was thinking about getting the amd phenom ii x6 1100t black edition. What is the best motherboard and ram to get the most out of the CPU??

I would (and I am) wait for bulldozer to come out, but I agree AM3+ is your best bet. I wouldn't get an 880G howeverm as they are coming out with 9 series boards already. I have my eye on the Gigabyte UD7:
