Samsung syncmaster 2253bw does not work properly for windows 7

Hello,

I am using monitor Samsung Syncmaster 2253BW with VIA Chrome9 HC IGP, On Board Graphic Card to the Biostar P4M900-M7 motherboard. I recently upgrade my OS from vista to windows 7, and suddenly my monitor/ display can not get the proper/ previous resolution 1680x1050. Can u help me rectify this problem thanks

1440 x 900, but the display does not occupy full screen, and when multiple windows are opened it kinds lag/ slow to react. the only resolution that fits the screen is 1280 X 1024, but the wording/ pictures and all are really course and grainy.....

i think its your on board gpu which is the problem...
its not powerful enough to run dual display you may try installing the latest driver available for it from biostar site but i recommend you get a new powerful gpu because of the high resolution you use

i dont mind buying a gpu. just wondering whether it is needful, since, when i used Vista previously, there was no problem....and i am a little afraid that even with the new graphic card the problem will persist. advise please...should i get a new powerful graphic card?

windows 7 uses more gpu(graphics card) than vista since your current gpu isn't powerful enough to take load your display lags

do u have any recommendation to which brand/ model that is good and reasonable price...p/s i dont play computer games, but does some photo editing occasionally and watch movies/ youtube too

since you don't play games you can go for a mid level ATI gpu, you get nice performance for less
btw what is you budget limit?
