How to connect desktop computer to wifi using router

Hello,
How do I connect a desktop to wifi connection using only a D-Link router without a wifi NIC card. Can I configure the router to transmit the wifi to my desktop without hardwiring either the desktop modem PCI or the router to an ethernet. All wifi? is it possible?
