I have an Armada E700 laptop that recently (like in the last few
hours) has developed a pixel thin, three inch long, blue line running
from the base of the screen upwards.

While the line is invisible when anything is white on the screen, it
becomes obvious and annoying when the screen is black. Does anyone
know if the screen is failing, or if it can be fixed and roughly what
I'd be looking at in getting it replaced?

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Ron

The replacement of a laptop screen is not feasible from an economic point of
view. They cost several hundred dollars. I do not think a repair is possible
either. Sorry.

You may find a used LCD or cheap parts machine on Ebay, the price of a new LCD
may be prohibitive. If you are handy, can still see small parts, and find the
hardware manual, screen replacement should possible. If you get a cheap
replacement you can simply drop in your HD.

I've seen some suggestions for attempting to fix LCDs, but none of them ever
worked for me.
