Major C Drive Problems

I have Vista and but my information denies that is a "genuine" Microsoft Vista Product when it was purchased with my HP Direct PC. Somehow, I am being told there is not enough quota memory. So in order to obtain file list and edit what is the wisest way to proceed?

  1. If Vista came with the HP PC, then it will be an OEM licence and is already validated by Microsoft and HP. Sounds like you are getting a false positive about running an illegal version. You can ring Microsoft toll free activation number and ignore prompts to enter licence number to get to speak to a human or backup your files and use the system recovery option to setup a fresh copy, which should show as genuine.
  2. i have had memory chips fail which cause this problem

run a memory checker to see if this is the case...
