Hey gang. I have a Sapphire Vapor-x 5770 and lately I've been worrying about the temperatures it reaches. Earlier today I was playing Borderlands when the card was hovering at a constant 70 degrees celcius with the fan at 50%. Is this a safe temperatute for it to be running at? Also how much cooler do the Vapor-x models run compared to the standard 5770's? Any input here would be appreciated.

70c is cool and more then saf, video cards can reach 100c and still operate fine.

FYI, i don't know why but Borderlands really pushes a card's temp. My card runs hotter on that game then Crysis, far Cry 2, RE 5, etc.,

How hot can a 5770 become before I should shut it down? Also just to elaborate on my first post is it safe for my GPU to be running at 70 C for a few hours?

1. the 5770 will shut itself down if it gets too hot and most cards will pass 105-110c before they do

2. it was designed to run at 70c+ for hours, why would it not be safe?

70C is a good temp, I used to have a MSI 5770, that went up to the 80's on full load. You should be fine.
