Hello,
i have a gx280 and I'm planning to upgrade it. my question i could be compatible to radeon hd2900xt. my system run at 3ghz and my memory 2ghz. could you advice what will the better i do? thanks and more power

HD2900XT is an old and power hungry card that would never run on your std power supply. You did not specify what form factor it is but it was available as a slimline as well. If it is the mini tower then cards like HD4650/70 would be the best recommended upgrades.

Both rolli59 and IROC_69 make good points. Unless you plan to upgrade your PSU as well, you need to stick to a GPU that will not require external power, nor draw too heavily on the stock PSU. I would recommend you look at the HD4550, HD4650, HD4670, or HD5450. They may all state that they recommend a 300W or better PSU, but they work just fine in Dell's with their 250W PSUs. Good luck!
