So, I have a cable modem through Road Runner with a wireless router built in with my modem. The modem is downstairs. I have a PC upstairs, and it's connected wirelessly. The signal strength is always low, and lately, it seems to be dropping connection more and more frequently. It re-connects within about 20-30 seconds, but still, it's a bit annoying. I tried turning my cell phone off, made sure there was nothing that could be interfering with the connection in my room.
The weird thing is that my Xbox 360 is sitting on my computer desk, about a foot away from my PC's wireless adapter, (360 has it's own separate adapter) and my 360's connection is perfect. When I play games online, I'm normally always the host. My connection on my 360 never drops, and it's always perfect. So, which leaves me to believe it's not my internet, or the connection... but possibly my PC's wireless adapter? I have the one that was given to me when my internet was hooked up almost two years ago. It's sort of always had that problem, but never really used the PC enough to care.
If it is my wireless adapter on my PC, does anyone know if or where I could find a new adapter cheap, but still good? And if it's not that, could it be anything else possibly?
