Hello, I probably have a PCI express v-1 graphics slot. The processor is AMD 64X2 dual core 6400 3.2 GHz. Question will this Nvidia GE Force GTX 460 graphics card work being a PCI express v2?
4GB ram, Asus M2N sli delux mother board.

Video cards are backwards compatible with PCI-E 1.0 and 1.1 so you shouldn't have any issues as far as compatibility.

460 will work for 1.0 but not ATI 5000 series. some ATI 5000 series can't work in 1.0 PCI bus since they using 2.1 interface. anyway just don't buy ATI card. 460 is golden card today.
