Do I need to change bios settings?

Let's say that I hypothetically build a new computer, and I do not wish to overclock anything. Do I need to change any bios settings? I will also be getting a SSD--does that mean extra settings to worry about?

I just want to put together a stable, non-overclocked build and not risk changing any settings if i don't have to.

you probably need to change the memory timing settings manually to reach maximum speed.
