My sis wants a gaming pc.
I would like to buy from www.pixmania.ie or www.komplett.ie pix preferably tho.
600 is the max i can spend because i will have 2 buy os, keyboard+mouse and monitor.
I would prefer to go amd cpu and ati gpu. this gaming pc dose not have 2 be anything special its only for lower end games like sims 2. Also she wants the case 2 look cool :bounce:

Do you mean thats 600 not including the OS and monitor and keyboard/mouse or 600 with those included in the budget?

If insisting on prebuilt then:

Looked best. Not a big fan of the mobo and the card is dated, but at least you get a good processor. If just playing things like Sims 2 then the 9800 will probably suffice. It's probably overkill for her needs, but if buying a computer I always like to at least get something that is well set to cope with anything that may come in the future. This computer only needs the GPU changed one day.

Building your own will of course get better quality parts. I would probably just be going with 4gb RAM, a RANA x3 440 with an AMD mobo, depending on resolution of monitor a 5770 will probably do

Ah, that is a relief, a pretty good build can be built

4gb Corsair RAM - 109.90

Total: 470.08

That leaves plenty for the GPU. You are probably needing nothing more powerful than a 5770. You could likely get away with weaker depending on size of monitor and all other games that may be played

A few notes on the build:

The mobo is probably excessively nice, but it seemed a good deal and it has XFire, but assuming your sis does not really play demanding games you can drop this down to a cheaper one - just look for the 760/770 series.

The PSU is excessive for the needs, but again it was a good deal and given that the Corsair 450w was not much cheaper I figured it would be nice to have a powerful PSU with room for the build to grow. Again, you can save money by reducing this, but stick with Corsair for quality.

The HDD is excessively large, but I could not find a 500gb version. I don't know how much music and other stuff your sister may want, but the 1tb was on offer from 80 so it seemed a good buy, but again less money could be spent.

I have no idea on the quality of case, but as you are not overclocking the PC or putting the biggest and best items in it, there should be no issues, and you said it needed to look cool, so I picked that one.
