$2000 Photography system

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: By end of this month

BUDGET RANGE: $2000

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Lightroom & Photoshop, Dreamweaver, FTP, AutoCAD, MATLAB

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com I guess, unless there is somewhere better I don't know about

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Houston, TX

PARTS PREFERENCES: Core i7 X58

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Don't really know, probably not

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Not sure yet, considering either single 30" display or two smaller displays (outside of $2000 budget obviously)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I searched the forums and found this build. Basically I am going to copy it, but want to do so with updated parts.

But now video card I'm stuck on. I have no idea which to choose as I have no clue about gaming cards. Obviously if I had no budget limitations I would choose the Nvidia Quadro series, but since I do have limitations I need some advice.

Also the build I copied this from is coming up on being almost a year old. Curious to see if there are any recommended upgrades since that time.

I think 6GB of ram would be enough, you could also get more if you need it, dont bother spending more for windows 7 ultimate just get home permium (if you are a student there are discounts avilable) How much 3D rendering will you be doing? I would like a Geforce card would suit you best but I dont do 3D rendering..

Very little 3D rendering, all of my CAD stuff is plans and drawings which are 99% drawn in 2D
