Installed win7 on my SSD (ocz-vertex4)
Upgraded to win8

I also have Two 2TB WD drives I want to run in a RAID1 for storage.
When I change the SATA mode to RAID, win8 won't boot.
It boots to the SSD, says windows had an issue, runs a daig, reboots, etc, eventually says windows can't fix it.

Changing SATA mode back to AHCI and everything works flawlessly.

Thoughts?

You will likely have to wait for a bios update, one of the early adopter pains that is common. Contact ASUS support with all the information, as they are fairly responsive in my experience and will look at it for a future bios update.

yeah I'm going through the process of updating the bios now, a release came out 6 days ago.

Borked the update however, and installed some "usb3.0 accelerator" nonsense in my haste. And since win8 doesn't support the intel usb 3.0, no usb *** is working. I even disabled all the usb 3.0 in the bios, ng. Oh and lovely, there is no way to boot into safemode in win8 without first loading drivers. Brilliant MS... brilliant....

Looks like a new install !

I haven't tried it yet with Win8, but a repair install would save you from reinstalling programs and data if you got that far already.
